What We Do

Phasing Up to New Possibilities Program
In 2014, Jack and Jill Charlotte Chapter made a five year commitment to Johnson C. Smith’s Phasing Up Foster Care Program.  The mission of the program is to support  the transition of foster care youth as they strive to overcome previous challenges and prepare to enter a new phase of progression.  Through our signature event, Jazzin, and other fundraising efforts, we will provide financial support.  In addition, we are also partnering with the program to develop mentoring opportunities for the students.  To learn more about JCSU’s Phasing Up Program, please visit their website - http://www.jcsu.edu/about/foster-care-initiative/phasing-up-to-new-possibilities-program2

“For the more than 20,000 young people who age out of foster care in the U.S. every year. . . the outcomes aren't great. They're heading out into the world with next to nothing — no family, no money, no support.”  NPR, Guerra, Jennifer. (2015, January 5). From Foster Care to Freshman Year
